Hungary Central Bank Raises Rate 25bps to 6%

The National Bank of Hungary raised its main monetary policy rate 25 basis points to 6.00% (with effect from 25 Jan 2011). The move was driven by rising inflation, as rising fuel prices have led to higher inflation. Hungary reported inflation of 4.9 percent in 2010, which is above the official 3% medium-term inflation target.
