Inflation Targets

Central Bank News has produced the inflation targets table as a complement to the global monetary policy interest rate monitor. It is currently a work in progress, while some of the inflation targets below are official policy targets for the banks, some are more government targets e.g. set by the ministry of finance. Over time we will build out the table to include other countries.

Inflation targeting is a common goal of monetary policy, but other goals may include maximizing GDP growth, optimal employment, and financial stability. See Wikipedia entry on inflation targeting for a primer.
